Khaas: an introduction done properly, for everyone

Khaas means “special”, in the way a family says it. For members who live with a disability or a long-term health condition, and for families who would rather know, and be open to it, from the start.
Say it once, in your own words, with dignity, and let the right families find you.

Khaas on the profile

Why we built it

On most apps, a member who lives with a disability or a health condition is left to explain it in the first message, every time, to every family. There is nowhere to say it once, and no way for the families who are open to it to find them.

Khaas is that place. The same verified profiles and the same matchmaker, with the explaining done once, kindly, in the member’s own words, and a filter for the families looking for exactly this. It is the one thing no other matrimonial service offers, and we are proud of it.

Who Khaas is for

  • Members who live with a disability

Of any kind: something visible, or something families only learn about later. You decide how it is described, and whether it is described at all.

  • Members with a long-term health condition

The kind families tend to ask about before an introduction. Said once, in your words, instead of in every first message.

  • Members who think or learn differently

Anyone who would rather this were understood with warmth from the start than discovered as a surprise.

  • Families open to all of the above

Many families are. They simply have no way to say so on other apps. The Khaas filter is for them.

There is no list to qualify against and nothing to prove. If you would rather families knew before the first message, Khaas is for you.

Four promises

Your choice, every time

Listing in Khaas is one tick on the profile. Tick it when you create the profile or later from Settings, and untick it whenever you like. Nothing else about the profile changes.

Say it once, in your own words

An optional note (“Hearing impaired since childhood, lip-reads and signs; works full time.”) sits under “What families should know” on the profile. You decide what it says, and how much. We never ask for medical details, and we never show documents.

Seen by everyone, found by those open to it

Khaas members appear in every search like any other verified member. The Khaas filter on the search page simply helps the families who are looking for exactly this find them.

Nothing less than any other member

The same ID check for men, the same photo privacy for women, the same matchmaker and the same visa help. Khaas is a section, never a separate queue, and never a lesser profile.

How to list a profile in Khaas

  1. Create a free profile

Yourself, or a parent or sibling on your behalf. The wizard asks who is filling it in.

  2. Tick “List this profile in Khaas”

In the “About” step. Add the note if you want to; leave it blank if you don’t.

  3. Get verified like everyone else

A person reviews the profile. Men upload a government ID; women never need to.

  4. Families find you, or you find them

Use the Khaas filter in Find a match, send interests, and let the matchmaker help when you’re ready.

Questions families ask

What does Khaas mean?
Khaas (خاص) means “special” in Arabic, Urdu and Hindi, and “khas” means the same in Indonesian and Malay: the word a family uses with affection, not as a label. We chose it because that is how these members should be spoken of.
Does listing in Khaas cost anything?
No. Khaas is free on every tier, for women and for men. Membership prices are the same as for any other member, and women always join free.
Will other members see my medical details?
Only what you choose to write in the note, and only if you write one. We never ask for, store or show medical documents. The ID a man uploads for verification is seen by our review team only.
Can I list a family member’s profile in Khaas?
Yes. Many Khaas profiles are managed by a mother, father or sibling. The profile says who manages it, and the family stays in control of who sees the photo.
Can I come out of Khaas later?
Any time: Settings → Profile → untick the box. The Khaas mark disappears from the profile and the filter no longer finds it. Everything else stays as it was.
Can I search only for Khaas members?
Yes. The Khaas filter is the first filter on the search page, open to every verified member, and it works alongside age, city, religion and the rest.
